Suzanne Reisert, age 82, of Long Beach, NY, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by love and the comfort of family. A lifelong educator, devoted community member, and cherished mother and grandmother, Suzanne touched countless lives with her warmth, strength, and quick wit.

Born and raised in Garden City, NY, Suzanne pursued a career in education that spanned decades. She graduated from Marywood College and earned her Masters in Education from Stonybrook University years later. She was a dedicated teacher and later Assistant Director in the Business, Career, Technical Education and Work Experience Department at Sewanhaka Central High School District, where she taught various business, COBOL and accounting courses and later, Special Education.

In retirement, Suzanne remained deeply active in service to others. She devoted her time and heart to her faith and community, especially through her work with St Mary’s of the Isle Church and the Long Beach Lions Club.

Suzanne loved living in Long Beach and enjoyed maintaining an active lifestyle including swimming at the Carroll Recreation Center, biking along the Long Beach boardwalk, and even taking up boogie-boarding in the ocean when she was in her 60s. She loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s school and sports events.

Suzanne is survived by her son Gregory Reisert and his wife Tracey, daughter Eileen Azzara and her husband John, and her adored grandchildren, Mia and Jack Reisert. She also leaves behind her sister Barbara Nolan and brother-in-law Ronnie, sister-in-law Fran Kassimis, along with her nephews Michael Nolan (Diem) and Peter Nolan (Cordelia), all of whom she held dear.

Suzanne’s legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Long Beach Lions Club to support a new service dog in Suzanne’s honor.
